Color options
The new HomePod is available in two color options. One is white and the other is the ‘Midnight’ option which is favored over the black color for most releases by Apple like the M2 MacBook Air. It is possibly a shade of very dark blue that almost looks like black but is not black.
Features
The HomePod is covered with an “acoustically transparent mesh fabric.” It supports Siri voice control and Spatial Audio technology by Apple for immersive sound reproduction. People can create Siri smart home automation using their voice on the HomePod.
The new variant of HomePod is powered by the S7 chip, which powers the Apple Watch Series 7 as well. It includes room-sensing technology, which helps to adapt its sound profile based on the surroundings. It can be stereo-paired with an additional HomePod for better sound.
Uses
It can be used with an eARC and Apple TV 4K for sound system integration. It can also be used as an intercom around the house if you own more than one HomePod. Apple says that the new HomePod has Matter support. It can act as a home hub for HomeKit smart home support by Apple.
