Starting today, players have three new Game Pass titles to give a shot on their Xbox platform of choice. The first is Streets of Rogue on the PC Game Pass, a twin-stick, Roguelite RPG with multiple procedurally generated scenarios and many characters to play as. Next is Gonner2 on consoles and Android devices, a sequel to the critically acclaimed Roguelike platformer from 2016 by Raw Fury. Finally, players on both consoles and PC can now also play the long-awaited Final Fantasy 8 Remastered.

Final Fantasy 8 is but one of many Final Fantasy games that were promised to Xbox Game Pass players back in November of 2019. Besides this new addition, players can currently play Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 9, and Final Fantasy 15 across the Xbox family of consoles. While this already quite a bit of the celebrated JRPG franchise, players can still expect Final Fantasy 10: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy 10-2: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy 13-2, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 to come to the service in the future.

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered released in early September 2019 with many critics coming away with a generally positive experience. While many have stated that they believe that this is the best way to play the game, others were quick to point out that the remaster seemed to not put nearly enough time into updating the game’s backgrounds. Meanwhile, character models received a considerable facelift from their original release, giving some players a somewhat jarring experience.

These three titles being added today are but a few of the many games that have been added recently for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Recently, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members received a new benefit that gave them full access to the EA Play catalog. This perk now gives players with a subscription access to games like Titanfall 2 and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.  With so many games available on Game Pass, it seems like players have plenty to play on their Xbox Series X until Halo Infinite launches next year.
