As seen in the tweets and images below courtesy of the Twitter user simply known as “junshen,” fans looking forward to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake can get a gander at a bevy of fresh concept art for the title, including, but not limited to conceptual designs of characters and environments. To be more specific, the images come from part of the “Words Aerith Left Behind” exhibit, in which the Sector 5 Church of the game is recreated.
Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition is being held as a way to reflect back on the storied history of the franchise, by giving both new and longstanding fans a detailed look at the series’ origins and past. Whether it be fan-signings, in-game captures, or conceptual art like in the images above, it looks as if the publisher and developer intends to provide something for everyone at the event.
Although the latest pieces of concept art photographed by “junshen” don’t include any of the main protagonists or antagonists like Cloud or Sephiroth, it’s still cool to see some of the foundational materials that are being used as reference points for artists and designers to build the Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s world. That said, though, with the FF7 Remake potentially having a late 2018 release, fans are likely going to start expecting more information about the title to come out as the year progresses, and Square Enix will hopefully deliver sooner rather than later.
The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is currently in development for the PlayStation 4.
