Specifically, Square Enix states that anyone that has pre-ordered Final Fantasy 7 Remake through the Square Enix store needs to reconfirm their order no later than February 28. Players that do not reconfirm by that date will have their pre-orders cancelled, and the developers indicates that it will not be able to reinstate any orders due to the limited quantities of the game that are available.

With respect to how fans should go about re-confirming their pre-orders, Square Enix suggests that a forthcoming email will provide a link that will allow them to do exactly that. Additionally, players that have pre-ordered Final Fantasy 7 Remake through the Square Enix store should receive yet another email on Wednesday, February 20, and this one will ask that they verify that their payment method is up to date before it is processed on February 28.

If that attempt to process payment proves successful, players should receive a final email confirming their Final Fantasy 7 Remake pre-order. If they do not receive such an email, it may mean that their payment did not go through, and Square Enix states that it will attempt to process payments several more times “through the next few weeks.”

In short, players that have pre-ordered FF7 Remake through the Square Enix store should be certain to both reconfirm their order and make sure that their payment method is valid. They should also keep an eye out for a final email confirming their order and not consider their copy reserved until that email has been received.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake releases April 10, 2020 for the PlayStation 4.
