However, today, Square Enix and PlayStation released the last Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade trailer, and at the end of said trailer, a graphic appears revealing that the game will only be a PS5 exclusive for a limited amount of time, six months to be exact. FF7 Remake Intergrade releases June 10, so that means its exclusivity will end on December 10, essentially the end of this year. What other consoles Intergade will appear on after this time remains unclear, as the trailer didn’t say.

The obvious console release for the game would be the PS4, as Intergrade’s PS5 exclusivity essentially snubs the console’s users. The Xbox Series X/S and PC work as candidates too, but they don’t even have access to the original Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Square Enix hasn’t released any promotions suggesting they will anytime soon. PS4, on the other hand, seems like it would get the game the moment the exclusivity ended; although, it could skip past consoles altogether.
This isn’t to say that Square won’t release Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on Xbox and PC; odds are it will sooner or later. If it didn’t have plans to, it would have strictly made Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade a PS5 exclusive and the original Remake a PS4 exclusive. But the lack of information regarding when these machines will receive the game suggests that fans shouldn’t expect to be playing Intergrade anytime soon, especially since it essentially added six more months of Remake exclusivity.
It’s unfortunate, but Intergrade’s exclusivity likely means that Xbox and PC players won’t be playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake until 2022 at the earliest. They may get the original game beforehand, but if it doesn’t happen before Intergrade arrives, it would be a little redundant. Then again, PS5 and Xbox Series shortages make the consoles hard to come by, so Square could release the original game on the Xbox One and PC for the sake of accessibility. It’s not like doing so wouldn’t help line the developer’s pockets either.
