In the third chapter of Final Fantasy 7, players will go to the 7th Heaven bar, where they’ll be able to partake in darts– a minigame found in plenty of video game bars throughout the ages. However, for those unfamiliar with the rules, or those that simply don’t have great aim, darts may prove to be a difficult task. The dartboard itself is located to the right of the jukebox in the bar. Even those uninterested in the reward may want something to distract themselves from beating Final Fantasy 7.

How to Win Darts

To win at darts, and by extension earn the Luck Up Materia, players are going to have to beat Wedge’s high score. To do so, players have to earn a score of 301 using seven or fewer darts, all without going over 301. Each wedge on the board will have a number value, and hitting it will award players that score. However, those wedges also have two other rings within them, one outer ring and one inner ring, that awards double and triple points respectively.

The best way to win the game is throwing darts at the 20-point rings triple modifier 5 times, securing 300 points, and then one more at the 1-point wedge, giving players a grand total of 301 and beating Wedge’s high score. In Chapter 4, Wedge will acknowledge the player’s feat, and grant them some Luck Up Materia. Players will also have another chance at winning darts in Chapter 4 in the bar.

While that method is the easiest way to win at darts, there are some things to keep in mind. Players will notice a ring shrinking and expanding inside of the regular, which narrows down when to throw the dart. Keep in mind, that ring only shrinks twice, so players will need to act relatively quickly to make the shot. Additionally, players will need to account for the dart shifting while playing, which essentially just involves adjusting the thumbstick while playing.

That’s pretty much all there is to it. So far, Final Fantasy 7 reviews have been fairly positive, and minigames like this certainly help. There’s still some time before players on other platforms get to experience it, but it is worth the wait.

FInal Fantasy 7 Remake is available now on PS4.
