Although players will be able to explore Final Fantasy 7’s first chapter, which revolves around the Mako Reactor 1 bombing mission, it has been revealed that any progress made by players in the preview will not be carried over to the full game. Moreover, given that Final Fantasy 7 is still in development, the content of the demo may be different from the final version of the upcoming remake.

Of course, while it may be disappointing for players who will download the demo to replay the first chapter again when the game launches, it is a minor tradeoff especially since this is the first time most players will be able to experience the remake, which has been in development for several years. It is also worth pointing out that Square Enix will reward players who will download the demo before May 11 with an exclusive PS4 theme, which will be available on the day of the game’s release.
Apart from the announcement of the demo’s availability, Square Enix also released a new trailer showcasing the upcoming game. From what was shown so far, Final Fantasy 7 looks spectacular and it is evident that Square Enix is keeping its word of retaining the overall vibe of the classic 1997 game, while also introducing new elements to keep the remake fresh for both new and returning players.
Final Fantasy 7 remake was supposed to release on March 3rd, but Square Enix had to delay the launch date to ensure that the developers will have enough time to put a final polish on the game and bring it to a level of quality that the fans deserve. Of course, while the delay only consists of a few weeks, some fans were concerned if this will affect the release date of Final Fantasy 7 Part Two. However, in an earnings call that transpired several days ago, Square Enix reassured fans that the slight push back of part one’s release will not affect the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Part Two.
Final Fantasy 7 remake is set to release on April 10, 2020, for the PlayStation 4.
