Aerith was introduced as a florist living in the slums of Midgar, where she is formally introduced to protagonist Cloud Strife after an encounter with wisp-like enemies. From there, she helps Cloud with his dilemmas, with Final Fantasy 7 Remake in particular expanding upon a lot of moments during the Midgar portion of the original game. For example, during the middle of the game, Cloud needs to save his friend Tifa Lockhart and Aerith assists by dressing the both of them up in pretty dresses. This version of Aerith in a red dress is quite popular among fans, which spawned a set of merchandise.

Aerith is receiving two figure releases that adorns her in this red dress, under Square Enix’s Play Arts and Static Arts Kai line. The Play Arts Kai version of Aerith has her able to adjust her limbs in various ways that allows her to be posed in ways that could recreate certain scenes from the game. Meanwhile, the Static Arts version will keep Aerith in one pose, that has her leaning forward. The figure is quite detailed, where her dress is has plenty of aspects that are replicated from the game perfectly.

While it was initially announced that the Static Arts figure of Aerith in her red dress would release this year in March, it seems that this figure’s release will be delayed a few more months. The release seems to be different depending on the website, with some stating that it will be moved to around May 14th of this year, while the official Square Enix store seems to have a window of June 2022. The Play Arts version also is seeing a similar delay, where it has the same window as the Static Arts version.

To match Aerith’s figure, a similar one that has Tifa’s Mature Dress is also available for pre-order. It will also have both a Play Arts and Static Arts release. This figure was initially announced to be arriving in June 2022, but there seems to be a similar delay, as Tifa’s release has been pushed back to October according to Square Enix’s store page.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
