As seen toward the end of Final Fantasy 15’s official Tokyo Game Show 2017 trailer below, fans are given a glimpse of a couple instances of Gentiana and Luna having a conversation, which possibly indicates their involvement in the as-yet-untitled story DLC. However, Square Enix failed to provide a specific date for the materials, as it wished to simply convey that more downloadable content is on the way.
What’s more is that Square Enix also used the above trailer to reveal that Final Fantasy 15 will have increased hunt capacity by way of a free update coming to the game. As with the story DLC, though, Square Enix didn’t offer an exact time frame for the patch, but fans will likely be happy to learn that they will eventually be allowed to undertake even more of the title’s hunting side quests sometime in the future.
Beyond the aforementioned assets that are deemed to be fresh to Final Fantasy 15, the rest of the trailer consists of reminders of previously announced content to come, as well as materials that are already available. For instance, the clip not only reestablishes that a PC version is on the way in 2018, but it also prompts players to not forget that DLC such as Episode Gladiolus and Episode Prompto are out now.
Bearing all of this in mind, the allusion to forthcoming story DLC will likely be the largest takeaway for Final Fantasy 15 fans, especially since Square Enix asked for player input a while back in order to determine what kind of narrative content they want for the game next. With the stills and footage nodding at Gentiana and Luna being included in the add-on, it’s likely that we will see them as playable characters sometime down the line.
Final Fantasy 15 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox one, and it will release in early 2018 for PC.
