Reflections in Crystal will include a huge amount of content for these millions of players to enjoy, including new main story quests, a dungeon called The Heroes’ Gauntlet, a trial, updates to New Game+, and more according to Final Fantasy 14’s website. One stand-out additional challenge is an update to the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse bonus episode, based on 2017’s NieR: Automata, that was created in conjunction with Yosuke Saito and Yoko Taro.

The upcoming patch was originally meant to release in June, but was delayed to July and again to August as the developers needed more time to test the update while working from home. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has also led to Square Enix cancelling this year’s Final Fantasy 14 fan fest.
Fans of the MMO should be excited to get their hands on this update soon, especially while many are still stuck at home looking for things to do because of the pandemic. Earlier this year, Square Enix addressed coronavirus by stopping the demolition of houses in Final Fantasy 14 to give players more freedom to worry about real-life financial concerns.
Final Fantasy 14 is available now on PC, PS3, and PS4.
